AVID educators from around the nation are opening their doors to provide an in-person experience for other educators to see AVID in real time and hear about how schools are leveraging AVID to support all students with college and career opportunities. Upcoming Showcase events near you are listed below, along with what you will discover during your visit.
Elementary Schools
Attendees will observe classrooms where foundational skills are taught; see young students engaged in organized learning activities, collaborative problem-solving, and early development of critical thinking skills; and understand how AVID strategies are integrated into core curriculum to support academic readiness and foster a college- and career-ready mindset from an early age.
Middle Schools
Attendees will observe how students become independent learners, engaging in complex problem-solving tasks, participating in Socratic Seminars, and using organizational tools like AVID's digital note-taking system. The Showcase will demonstrate how AVID strategies help develop academic habits needed for high school and beyond and support students during this critical transitional period in their education.
High Schools
Attendees will observe advanced implementation of AVID strategies as students engage in rigorous coursework, participate in college-level discussions, and prepare for college and career opportunities. The Showcase will demonstrate how strategies prepare students for postsecondary success, including college readiness, career exploration, and support in pursuing college admissions, scholarships, and career preparedness.
